9.4 The Mutants

I almost fell asleep in the middle of this one, which is not a good sign.  That doesn't normally happen.  I think this was boring because I really didn't like any of the main characters.  Again we have the aristocrats that are really evil, and the aliens/monsters are really the good guys being persecuted.

The Doctor is basically a glorified postman in this, which I found hilarious.  The things he has to do now that he is everyone's servant!  Unfortunately, he doesn't know who needs the big black ball, so he must hand it to everyone to find its owner. You'd think the Time Lords would have labeled it, but that would be too easy.

Basically the Overlords are polluting the planet Solos, making it inhabitable for the Solonians who live there.  It turns out that the Solonians transform over time, but the gasses on the planet are transforming the Solonians before it is their time, thereby turning them into mutants who are violent and angry.  The Doctor must make the planet Solos better, so the Solonians can mutate correctly.

The Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver to open metal doors, emphasis being on metal doors.

The Doctor is mistaken as an Overlord.  That's pretty funny because I think it partly has to do with the way that he dresses.  He doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, does he?

Yes, the Marshal is crazy.  Really, really, really, really, really crazy.
